4 cups all-purpose flour
1 ¾ cups shortening
½ cup water
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons salt
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, mix 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 3 tablespoons of white sugar.
2. Add in 1 ¾ cups of shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. In a small bowl, beat 1 egg, then add it to the flour mixture along with ½ cup of water. Mix until the dough forms.
4. Divide dough into 4 parts (This recipe makes 4 pie crusts). Chill in refrigerator until ready to use.
5. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to fit your pie pan.
6. Fill with your favorite pie filling, and bake according to your pie recipe’s instructions.
