Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 cup apple pie filling, chopped
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Directions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Pour in the buttermilk and gently stir until the dough begins to come together.
Fold in the chopped apple pie filling and ground cinnamon until evenly distributed.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it holds together.
Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle and use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.
Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
