Layer the Pretzels: Spread the crushed pretzels evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Make the Caramel: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the brown sugar and cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly, about 2-3
minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour and Bake: Pour the caramel mixture over the pretzels, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly and golden brown.
Add Chocolate: Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot caramel layer. Let sit for a few minutes to soften, then use a spatula to spread
the chocolate evenly over the caramel.
Add Sea Salt and Cool: If desired, sprinkle sea salt over the melted chocolate. Allow the bars to cool completely in the baking dish at room temperature, or refrigerate until the
chocolate is set.
Cut and Serve: Once cooled and set, lift the bars from the baking dish using the parchment paper overhang. Transfer to a cutting board and cut into bars of desired size.
