Savory Sausage Gravy Over Fluffy Biscuits

Cook the sausage: In a skillet, brown the ground pork sausage over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Make the gravy: Stir in butter and allow it to melt. Add the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream, and simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
Prepare the biscuits: Bake or heat the biscuits as directed. If using homemade, make sure they are golden and fluffy.
Assemble and serve: Split the biscuits in half and generously spoon the sausage gravy over them. Garnish with extra black pepper if desired.
