Instructions: How to Make the Best Meatloaf
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan for a more defined shape.
Step 2: Mix the Meatloaf
In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit for 5 minutes until the crumbs absorb the liquid. Add in ground beef, eggs, onions, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Mix gently using your hands until everything is well combined but not overworked—this ensures a tender loaf.
Step 3: Form and Glaze
Shape the mixture into a loaf shape on the baking sheet or press it into the loaf pan. In a small bowl, mix the glaze ingredients and spread evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Step 4: Bake
Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.
